Delete your GEEN account

GEEN — an Arabic social network for the AI and tech community. This page explains what is deleted, what remains, and how to request deletion.

Before you startAccount deletion is immediate and final. There is no grace period and no way to reverse it after confirmation. Your username is released immediately and becomes available to others.

How to delete your account

1From the appSettings → Delete account.

2From the websiteSettings → Profile → Delete account (sign-in required).

3If you lost access to your accountEmail us at [email protected] from the address registered on the account, and we will delete it on your behalf.

What is deleted permanently

Your full profile data: name, username, email, photo, bio, links, city, and date of birth.
Sign-in sessions and login methods linked to the account.
Your posts and articles and the replies/interactions that follow them.
Your replies on other people’s posts.
Your projects and their images and logos.
Reposts, votes, bookmarks, follows, and block lists.
Your private conversations and their messages.
Your notifications and email preferences.

Attributed to “Deleted member”

Some contributions on other people’s content stay published but are attributed to a “Deleted member” account with no link to your identity, so discussions that are not yours alone do not break:

Your comments on other people’s projectsYour signals and votes on those projectsReports you submitted

What we retain

Operations and audit logs: We keep a record that a deletion occurred, after removing your identifier from it, for operational and security purposes.

Contact messages: If you contacted us, the message text and the contact email you entered in the form remain, and are separated from your account.

BackupsPeriodic database backups are taken for disaster recovery. Your data may remain in those backups for up to seven days after deletion, then is removed automatically as backups rotate. Those backups are used only to restore the service if an outage occurs.

Signing up againYou may register again with the same email after deletion, but it will be an entirely new account. No content from the deleted account can be restored.
