Privacy policy

Last updated: July 2026 — draft for store review

This policy explains what GEEN collects, how it is used, and with whom it is shared to run the service. It applies to the website and app associated with geen.live.

Data we collect

Account data: email, display name, username, profile photo or default avatar, and optional profile fields (bio, links, title, country, city, gender, and birth date if you enter it).

Content you publish: posts, articles, replies, project comments, attached images and videos, projects and their signals, private messages between members, your private bookmarks, and reports you submit.

Usage and session data: login sessions, display and locale preferences, temporary IP address and operational logs used for rate limits, spam control, and account protection.

Upload-related technical data: uploaded images may be scanned for content-safety checks before acceptance.

How we use data

To run the platform: show content, follows, in-app and email notifications if enabled, search and discovery.

To protect the community: moderation, reports, enforcement, image safety checks, and rate limits.

To improve the service: aggregated operational statistics that are not used to sell personal identity to advertisers.

Third parties that receive data

Anthropic (model provider): when you invoke Geen Assistant via mention or another platform-operated generation path, relevant context text (such as post/reply text and the question) and sometimes related images are sent to Anthropic for processing and reply generation. This does not happen for all platform activity — only for assistant/generation flows.

DigitalOcean: hosting and running servers and the database, and file storage via DigitalOcean Spaces (uploaded images and media).

Email provider: one-time login codes, email notifications, and Contact us messages are sent through the mail server configured in the runtime environment (EMAIL_SERVER / EMAIL_FROM). Default admin contact inbox: [email protected].

Amazon Web Services — Amazon Rekognition: when image moderation is enabled, image bytes are sent to moderation label detection to reject unsuitable content before or during acceptance.

Cloudflare Stream: when post videos are uploaded, they are processed and stored via Cloudflare Stream for playback.

We do not sell your personal data. We share with these providers only what is needed to operate the relevant feature, and we may disclose data when legally required.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and content data while the account is active and while content is needed to run the service or meet legal obligations.

You can delete your account from profile settings. On deletion: your account data, sessions, and sign-in links are removed, and your projects, posts, and articles tied to your account are deleted (including cascading replies/media per database constraints).

Your comments and signals on others’ content may be reassigned to a system “deleted member” account instead of being removed from others’ public threads, so conversation context is preserved.

Limited admin audit records (such as an account-deletion log) may remain without keeping your profile publicly browsable.

Your profile images and deleted project logos are attempted to be removed from storage on deletion.

Cookies and sessions

We use authentication sessions (via the platform sign-in mechanism) to keep you signed in and protect requests.

We keep basic preferences such as UI language and feed display mode where applicable.

We do not currently use third-party ad networks to track you across other sites.

No sale of data

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Processing by the infrastructure and model providers listed above is to operate the service, not to sell user lists.

Your rights

You can review and edit your profile from settings and manage email notification preferences.

You can delete your account yourself from settings, or ask for help via Contact us.

You can block another member to hide their content from you and prevent their interaction with you under the platform block feature.

Privacy contact

For privacy questions or data requests: use Contact us on the platform, or email [email protected].
